- What is ShipAPI?
- One API for shipping. You integrate ShipAPI once and reach 100+ carriers (PostNL, DHL, DPD, GLS, UPS, FedEx, Royal Mail, Colissimo and more) for booking, label and document generation, rate-shopping, tracking and returns. Carrier coverage is strongest in the EU, with the UK, Switzerland, Norway and Iceland workable. ShipAPI is not new: it has run in production for around seven years and generated over a million labels in 2025.
- How long does it take to integrate?
- A developer can be creating real labels the same afternoon. You get a sandbox key, free test labels, a REST API with predictable endpoints, and webhooks for every status. No carrier contracts to wire up one by one, and when a carrier changes their API we absorb it, not you.
- What is direct.ship-api.com?
- Direct is our cross-border label platform for ecommerce shippers and consolidators, focused on shipments into Europe today. It generates compliant shipping labels and customs documents for cross-border parcels at volume and routes each to the right last-mile carrier in the destination country. Store, WMS and ERP integrations live in the standard ShipAPI platform; Direct is built for cross-border label generation at consolidator scale.
- Can ShipAPI run our own fleet, white-label?
- Yes. Beyond buying carriers, ShipAPI can run your own delivery operation: plan routes for your drivers, manage your fleet, and keep every stakeholder updated with the same live track and trace the big express carriers offer. The platform, the driver tooling and every message a customer receives are 100% your brand, not ours. Talk to us about a white-label setup.
- Can you find the cheapest carrier automatically?
- Yes. Send one shipment with carrier set to auto and ShipAPI rate-shops every eligible carrier and service, then books the cheapest that meets your rules (speed, country, insured value). You keep full control of which carriers and services are in the pool.
- Do we have to use your carrier accounts, or can we use our own?
- Your choice, and you can do both. Ship on ShipAPI's pre-negotiated rates from day one, plug in your own carrier contracts and accounts, or run them side by side and let rate-shopping pick the cheapest option for each parcel. Your deals stay yours; ShipAPI just makes them easier to use, with one integration across all of them.
- How does pricing work?
- The API platform is a recurring plan plus per-shipment usage, sized to your volume. Direct is purely metered, billed per label with no minimum. Both are transparent and published, with no per-seat fees and no annual lock-in to get started.
- Is ShipAPI EU-hosted?
- Yes. Infrastructure and data sit in the EU, with encryption at rest and an audit trail on every shipment. ShipAPI is a product of Deuces Media B.V., based in the Netherlands.
- Do tracking updates reach our customers?
- Every carrier status is normalised into one consistent set of events and pushed to you over webhooks the moment it changes, so you can drive your own customer notifications, support tooling and analytics without polling four carrier portals.
